I Puritani

 I Puritani was Bellini's last great melodic work, and stands as a masterpiece of the Bel Canto period.

With stunning music for both chorus and soloists, this is one of our favourite operas to perform.

 I Puritani is notable not only for its happy ending (a rarity in grand opera) but for its stunning two "mad scenes" for soprano. 

 One of the most beautiful and heartrending things you will ever see on stage is coloratura soprano Julie Duerichen's  performance in the opera's leading role.
