  • Act I - Opening with the Witches, Macbeth & Banquo

    The Witches are gathered beside a battlefield.  Macbeth and Banco enter.  The witches hail Macbeth king "hereafter".  Banco is greeted as the founder of a great line of future kings. 
    A messenger from the king appears naming Macbeth Thane of Cawdor. 
    Macbeth & Banco muse that the first of the witches' prophecies has been fulfilled.

    The witches depart leaving a letter for Lady Macbeth from her husband.

  • Act I - Vieni t'affretta - Emily MacKinnon

    Lady Macbeth reads a letter from her husband telling of the encounter with the witches.  She is determined to propel Macbeth to the throne.  She is advised by a servant that King Duncan will stay in the castle that night;  she decides that he shall not survive the night.

    In the banquet room in Macbeth's castle there is a great celebration that Macbeth is now king.
