Rigoletto

by Giuseppe Verdi

Rigoletto was Opera Pro Cantanti's first opera in 2007

Four clips taken from some of our Past 31 performances

  • Act I  - Rigoletto

    Rigoletto - Richard Williams

  • Act I duet - Rigoletto & Gilda

Rigoletto enters his own courtyard and here calls for his beloved daughter, Gilda.  They sing of their joy at finally being reunited, after so many years of her life in a convent.  Rigoletto warns her to remain concealed in their home.  She does not reveal to him that she has already fallen in love with a handsome young man she has encountered on her way to church.
    Rigoletto - Richard Williams
    Gilda - Julie Duerichen

  • Act I - Gilda's Aria

Gilda sings a beautiful aria about her love for the Duke of Mantua.
    Gilda - Julie Duerichen

  • Cortiqianni, vil razza....

Rigoletto enters, feigning indifference but desperately seeking signs of the whereabouts of his daughter.  A court page comes looking for the Duke but the courtiers are evasive and Rigoletto suddenly realizes where they have taken his daughter and he is greatly distraught.
    Rigoletto - Richard Williams
